Relating the Bible (Third Entry)

Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied…woe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. (Luke 6:21, 25)
The earth is desolate, the sky filled with ash and the few survivors roam the landscape in fear, starved, and often in solitude like I am now. No one is in site; everything is either burnt or broken down like a large landfill site set on fire.  Over my many years of traveling, I’ve learned that there is a stronger message than just an apocalypse – it is the resilience of the human spirit during the devastating time. Back when all this wasn’t here, I remember seeing children playing in the streets and parent siting back, relaxing or cutting the luscious green grass. I remember the world before this when all you had to worry about was bringing back money for your family to buy food and pay bills. People felt secure enough to let their children and themselves roam the neighborhood alone without fear. Now on the other hand we hide, or if you’re old like me we lie to survive. I find that faith, love and a strong will to live are fundamental in not losing your path as well as maintaining hope through the journey.  We search for things that aren’t there and walk long distance at times, only to find death all around us.  Only way to survive on the road is to satisfy your inspirit by the little things that come by in life in order to sustain the hardships. I haven’t meet two people that different in a long time, in a good way today was very helpful on my journey.

Meeting of the Father and Son (Second Entry)

When I met the father and son, travelling along the dead paved road toward the sea like they were travelling for years. I could tell that the boy had never seen the different world, and the father dreamt fragments of the past. They had food which I’m greatly thankful for when the boy desperately told his father to give me. There is no one out there that would do that unless they were trying to trick me into coming with them to be eaten. Often the hard ships one is faced with are intimidating, but the barriers of reality are weaker than the constants of the inner spirit. The kid reminds of how effective the inner spirit can be, when he proves to his father that not everyone has changed and you need to start trusting in others to survive. Not by ganging up on a person to eat them but by working together to find real food and help build or find shelters when necessary. I know I’m not going to live for ever but we as adults need to show the next generation of kids, if there are any that you mustn’t lose your ways and always keep on going when you find something hard put into your way. Faith also plays a prominent role in your inner spirit because you need the presence of god in a godless world to serve as your guide and to keep your hope strong. The kid embodies a Christian spirit, demonstrated by his kindness and humility, while meeting me on my journey.

Symbolism (First Entry)

I talk about biblical references and how it relates to the world but there are other symbolic features in my life that provide hope, which is water. It has a powerful healing ability, which is commonly is used in spiritual connotation. As a symbol, water is a means of cleansing and rebirth. Water is also present in the scriptures saying that the Lord will quench your thirst. Everywhere I look I see ashes and dirt, so it is refreshing to see water whenever I can. Before all this, we used water as an item to live life but now water means so much more when you’re in the state like I am. This reality is a message to all people, that the road we journey on is representative of life and ones tribulations with our life time. The inner spirit and the hope you have is more powerful than any form of destruction. It is the ultimate survival tool that will guide you through the vicarious world that we live in now. Those who are week give into suicide or other means of self- destruction. Like the father sad to me he’s wife exemplifies this weakness because she left to cause suicide to get away from all the disasters that were happening. The desire to keep on going and not lose your inner spirit will help you overcome the barriers life throws at you on your journey.
